No one knew what this little brown baby girl was destined for when she came into this world in Sarasota, Florida. As a little girl she always knew there was more for her than what she saw around her, she dreamed big even though it was not a time for little brown girls to have big dreams. Naturally beautiful, in her young years she often posed as a model but that was lack luster to her. She knew there was more out there. In the midst of blossoming into a young lady, she settled into what the world around her told her was her fate - she married young and started a family. Blessed with 2 children of her own and a host of bonus children, she knew one thing - "to have what she never had, she had to do what she had never done. The spark had ignited the flame - a visionary was revealed.

Dorothy knew she needed to continue to learn and grow - After moving to Texas she longed for a Spiritual place to call home, a place to fellowship with believers and lovers of the Father's word. She became a member of Windsor Village United Methodist Church, this was a turning point, a shift. Here, she was able to turn her passion for others into something tangible. She was and continues to be an invaluable part of the church's mission to make a better life for less fortunate children in Kenya, Africa. Dorothy was a part of the ministry that built an orphanage and providing shoes for them. Through impacting others’ lives, she was changing her own. The epitome of the phrase "to receive a blessing, you must be a blessing to others."
